The next text is my assignment about Photography careers and colleges.
Here's my choice:
The career I chose is Photojournalism and in this program I would probably go into science journalism than I searched for a University which has a Photojournalism program and decided for the Boston University.
1. I chose this career because I’m interested in Science and it always fascinated me.
This part of photography isn’t just taking pictures, it’s creating a story behind the pictures.
. And the reason why I chose the Boston University is that I like the city and I actually never knew why but I always wanted to go to a school in Boston. Maybe it doesn’t make sense but I know that everything I do because I want to do it is always a success.
2. one benefit of going to this college would be that I could study there as an foreign student and the BU also offers undergraduat scholarships and scholarship oppurtunitys for graduated students. That would make it easier for other students to be able to go to this University. And you can also maximize the value of your BU degree. And for me it’s also important that the University I go to has representatives as students from all over the world, like that it’s easy to have conactions all over the world. And good conections allways help in the future.
3.The BU offers special scholarships for undergraduate students, but these are limited. And the cost for undergraduated students who are residents would be $63,644. Another problem is that the BU doesn’t has scholarships for international students. That means I would have to apply for a special scholarship of the German or American Government.
4.I could get a Master of Science degree with this program. To get this degree I would have 40 credit hours taken over 2 semester and a summer professional internship. . In addition to courses within the program, students may take electives elsewhere in the College of Communication or in other colleges throughout the University, particularly in the College of Arts & Sciences, the School of Public Health, or, in some cases, the School of Medicine. The classes within the program are small—usually eight to ten students, with an emphasis on professional-level reporting and writing.
5.The avarage of salary for photojournalsist is $14,00 per hour, that would make with overtime and bonus maximum ~ 57,071.If this amount of money would be the salary for a year it would be actually one big reason why I maybe wouldn’t do this job, because the amount of money I would earn in a Year isn’t even the amount of money I spent for my University.
6.One also really important fact for me is that the number of students in a class is small. On their website they said that it’s 27 students in a class. What I think is really important so that you have the chance to ask induvidual questions.
